The Illusion Of Space And Additional Light Provided By Sliding Closet Doors

Guest rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways, entrance-ways, family rooms and kitchens will benefit from the addition of sliding closet doors. These doors bring extra light into a room and will enhance the feeling of spaciousness.

Keeping up with decorating trends can be expensive but even kid's rooms can be assured safety with the addition of high quality, warp- and shatter-proof glass. Over time, the initial investment will pay off as pressure resistance and impact proofing are often guaranteed to ensure that the reflections will be stable over time.

Tracks are easily installed on either carpet or flooring and can be adjusted to any measurement. Doors can be opened and closed without jamming due to smoother rollers, guides and runner surfaces.

V-grooved etching is an elegant option as opposed to the more common aluminum or wood-framing. The length or width of an entire room might be fitted with a wall of v-grooved sliding mirrors containing behind them a large and functional closet. A variety of styles, ranging from clear to opaque in regular or smoked glass finishes will satisfy the needs of any decor.

A diversion from standard kitchen cabinetry would be the addition of a mirrored door on a cupboard, pantry or broom-closet. In addition, the back wall of any of these spaces could be mirrored to create the illusion of a larger space and to initiate interesting decor related conversation.

Additionally, RV's with mirrored closet doors in living and dressing areas would seem to have more light and space!

A further advantage of these doors is the ability to dress in full view of one self. With bi-fold doors one can view the back and front self simultaneously when the doors are opened to face each other. Asking some else for their opinion or depending on a hand-held mirror would become unnecessary.

It is suggested that one might be cautioned against installing these doors in a room with more than one closet, particularly if the closets are on opposite sides of the room. Confusion and disorientation may become a result, much like that initiated in a fun-house. Secondly, if one is adverse to perpetually cleaning glass surfaces, it would be advisable to steer away from such high-maintenance materials.

Are you fed up of re-arranging your rooms every six months to make them look less congested? I bet the main reason is the closet's hinged doors that take a lot of floor space when you open them. You can easily save space with sliding closer doors and make your rooms look bigger.

You no longer need to shift your furniture to open your closets. Sliding closet doors are very convenient and can be made out of ply wood, plastic, mirror etc. The sliding closet doors made from mirrors are popular and they even increase the virtual space of your room as it shows the reflection of the real space of your room.

Usually sliding closet doors are paired which you can slide either sides. If you want to make your small apartment look comfortable and bigger then this is the best option for you. Just save space with sliding closet doors which besides saving space, makes your closet and room more attractive.

There is only one problem with the sliding closet doors; you are not able to open the whole closet at a time. With a double sliding door system, you can only open a part, usually half, of your closet at a time, if you want to open the other half, you will need to slide the door to other side, closing the other side. But in case of normal hinges doors also, you are not able to open the whole door, unless you have large empty space in your room.

Accessing a closet with partially opened hinged door is even more difficult that accessing a half open closet with a sliding door because the sliding doors are designed in such a way that when you slide them to open the closet, they seem to disappear. They actually penetrate inside the adjacent wall or wood work, as the design may be. So if you are dealing with a limited space setup of your room and need more space in your room, designing sliding doors for your closets is a very good option.
