Choosing Your Masonite Closet Doors

There are many choices when choosing your internal doors. Choosing Masonite closet doors can leave you with several options to consider, depending on the style and look you desire. You should also think carefully about the purpose of the door- if you want it to conceal its contents, for example, or if it is for a nursery.

The molded panel doors feature a composite design that is more durable than one of solid wood, as they better avoid warping, cracking or shrinking. These are available with two, three, four or six panels in a range of designs, so you can choose one that most suits your taste. They also include by-product chips in their manufacture, making them a greener alternative.

You could choose a panel item, which is made in either wood or MDF. If you are looking to fit it in a nursery or similar they are available with chalkboards inserted, which is fun for children. Alternatively, for a more adult look, you can simply have panels in place of the chalkboards.

For closets in a more public area, like a hallway, you could select the French style. These generally have panels made of glass, which can be plain, decorated in various styles or frosted, which can be used to hide whatever is inside whilst still looking very attractive. Again, these are available in wood or MDF, so you should choose depending on the walls of the area and your own tastes.

The Louver style have slats where panels would normally go and are often popular choices for bathrooms and upstairs landings. They are available in wood, MDF, plantation wood and plantation MDF. You could also have hardboard flush and veneer flush for the discrete look- these are plain and will just look like part of the wall.

When looking for Masonite closet doors, there are several choices to be made. You should think carefully beforehand about its purpose and who is going to be using it the most. Different styles cater for different tastes and there are a multitude of options open to you.

There are only a few select retailers that are authorized to sell these doors so it is best to check with local home supply retailers to see which retailers carry them. Masonite doors are easy to install. Many come with the casing and exact dimensions for the correct door size opening for installation. Prices will vary greatly depending on the style, wood and design you choose.

When choosing your doors you should make sure you have the dimensions of your doorway with you. This will better enable you to fit the doors to your closet. Keep your budget in mind when choosing your doors. Although most of these doors are very affordable, some can be costly.
